Enjoy the Feeling of Riding a Yacht with the Volkswagen Caddy Topos

Volkswagen is a German automobile manufacturer which is a major component of the much larger Volkswagen Group. This company is the world’s third largest car producer as of July 30, 2007.

Recently a version of their Caddy commercial van had been released by Volkswagen to mimic the style and functionality of a sailboat. This is an entry to the Dusseldorf Caravan Salon (30 August to 7 September), Europe’s largest recreational vehicles show where they need to present nautical themed vehicles. The concept is called the Topos Caddy Sail Design Concept.

Caddy Topos is a very nice Mediterranean-looking concept. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles created the design study as part of the celebrations of 20 years of the California camper. It uses styling from yachts design and features unique Autopartswarehouse components such a roof covered with wooden decking surrounded by aluminum roof rails. The roof deck is designed for lounging in the sun just like on the deck of a yacht, and the panels flip up to act as back rests. It is accessed via 4 steps located in the tailgate. It also features a nifty ladder built into the rear lift gate with wooden steps, as well as wood trim elsewhere on the vehicle’s exterior.

This car may not float, but you could park the Topos Sail down by the docks to get the amazing feeling of riding a yacht.

This model is available for viewing in Hall 16 at Dusseldorf Caravan Salon, which is open to the public from 30 August to 7 September.

Ford Creates New Pony Badge for 2010 Ford Mustang

Ford Motor Company is an American multinational corporation which was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated on June 16, 1903. It is the world’s fourth largest automaker when we talk about worldwide vehicle and Autopartswarehouse sales.

This new emblem features more defined edges than its current counterpart. It also features a subtly toned tinted-chrome finish. Also a first in the history of Mustang is that a black-chrome version of the Mustang pony badge will adorn 2010 GT Mustangs. . “We wanted to give the Mustang pony a more realistic feel,” said Douglas Gaffka, chief designer for the 2010 Mustang. “It’s more chiseled and more defined and looks more like a wild horse,” Gaffka added. “It’s more realistic in terms of proportion to an actual Mustang.”

The said emblems will appear on the grilles of 2010 V6 and GT Mustangs. According to some sources 2010 Mustang’s unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show will be on November this year.

SEAT Exeo Got Its Design from the Old Audi A4

SEAT is an automobile manufacturer founded in 1950 which is a subsidiary of the German Volkswagen Group. SEAT is an acronym for Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo, which means Spanish Saloon Car Company.

Recently SEAT has announced that they will be releasing a new family car that has an image related to the previous generation Audi A4. They will call it SEAT Exeo. Exeo which is derived from the Latin word exire means “to go beyond”. This name perfectly suites the SEAT company because they are commonly known as the company which always goes beyond. This name also signals excellence and is highly suggestive of driving pleasure.

SEAT has decided to take the design of the Audi A4 on including its proportions, greenhouse, chassis, suspension, doors, glass and other Autopartswarehouse prouduct, but having its front and rear clips in Seat style. It is expected to retail for £15,000 to £23,000 in the U.K. and we don’t yet know which powerplants it will receive. I think this will be great for Seat. When they’ve had most success in recent years it’s been through budget redesigns. In my opinion there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with modifying the old A4, I just hope they have spent the development money for quality.

Tata Reduces Land Rover production

When we say Land Rover, it is either the famous all-terrain vehicle or the Multi Purpose Vehicle Manufacturer itself. Land Rover is designed by the Wilks Brothers and is manufactured by the Rover Car Company. It was later owned by BMW. In 2000, the company was sold by BMW to the Ford Motor Company, and in June 2, Tata Motors finalized their purchase of Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford.

The first Land Rover production models were very successful due to its distinctive feature in their bodies. The materials that were used were inspired by post war Autopartswarehouse steel.

But recently, Tata motors are experiencing drop in sales that made them cut their workforce by 300 jobs, which includes eliminating two shifts at the Solihull production facility.

It was only a 3 percent overall drop in sales but they were down by more than 30% in U.S. which made them alarmed. It is reported that pretty much of every automaker that relies on SUVs is having a bad year. But Tata Motors have made an early move against that increasing downfall so they have cut off a part of Land Rover production to keep production in line with sales.

The Indian automaker is giving much attention on its production to make sure the luxury SUV brand continues to bring in profits. Overall, the productions cuts are probably a good idea and will help to keep supply in line with demand. So if sales begin to drop further, we’d expect Tata to make more drastic moves.

‘Khan Design’ did the Honors of Creating the New Look for Lotus Elise

The Lotus Elise is a roadster produced in 1994 by Lotus Cars (an English manufacturer), but it was released in September.

According to some trivia, from the time that the first generation Elise was introduced eight years ago, Lotus has sold more than 10,000 models of the car worldwide

Many car enthusiasts have proven that this car is one fun car to drive. Weighing just 902 kg (1984 lbs), the Elise is capable of 0-60 mph times of 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 241 km/h (150 mph).

One key to success of the Elise is the expertise and enthusiasm of the founder, Colin Chapman. His experiments with aerodynamics and weight reduction resulted in Formula One successes in the 60’s and 70’s. Lotus has won 79 Grand Prix championship races and seven Constructor’s Championships.

Today Lotus is still very eager to improve its product. Lotus decided to trust Kahn Design to do the task of creating its own modified version of the Elise as a part of the celebration of the automaker’s 60th anniversary.

Kahn Design is popular for its designs with Astons, Benzes and Landies, They have taken the challenge for the Elise and as expected, they have given very aesthetic enhancements including a new front splitter, side skirts and rear wing, along with silver mesh fitted to the side air intakes and many others. Elise features an epoxy-bonded aluminum chassis, finely tuned independent suspension

Here Comes the New and Improved Veyron

The Bugatti Veyron is known to be the fastest and most powerful street-legal car in the world. Aside from being the quickest, it is also known as the most expensive of all cars that you can see in the streets. But in spite of its luxurious price, it still has a very high production rate due to its demands from car enthusiasts.
Bugatti Veyron is a mid-engine sports car produced by Bugatti Automobiles, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen. It was introduced in 2005 as a mid-engine, all-wheel drive 2-door coupe, which is powered by a 1,001 hp (746 kW) W16 engine. It can reach an average top speed of 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph).

This great achievement from Bugatti doesn’t stop there, they’re always thinking of a way for the betterment of their company. So now here’s their new project. The SuperVeyron. There really isn’t much that could top the 1,000-or-so horsepower but they have planned to revise the model with 1,200-horsepower and 1,106 lb-ft of torque. Few heard that Super Veyron could appear on Autopartswarehouse by the end of this current generation’s production.

Other plans of the Bugatti include, another supercar and possibly an ultra-lux saloon to be opened around year 2012. Sportec Has Done a Great Job on Improving the Porsche 911 GT2

The Porsche 997 or you may want to call it the 997 is the code name for Porsche’s newest version of the sports car named Porsche 911. Porsche, a German automobile manufacturer started its production by July 2004 in two variants, the Carrera and Carrera S coupes.

Today Sportec Switzerland has released its latest package for the Porsche 911 GT2, it is called SP750. With this project they have proven that they have put a lot of serious efforts in carrying on this legacy with the new SP750.

Before, the 997 GT2 wasn’t praised much for its extreme performance and power but not until now because this Swiss project has included the best performance package from Autopartswarehouse including the output of up to 760hp (560kW), which then may result to a 0-100km/h (62mph) time of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed in excess of 350km/h (218mph).

Its engineers also reprogrammed the car’s ECU, “added a pair of Sportec’s own turbochargers, new titanium connect-rods, sports camshafts, high flow exhaust kit, a sports air-filter and an upgraded clutch.”

More high-performance features such as braking system with six-piston calipers and brake discs ranging from 350 to 380mm. A sports suspension kit is then fitted, including firmer springs and new shock absorbers.

Porsche 997 lovers wouldn’t be disappointed because visually it remains much the same as the original. What’s best is that the different tastes of car lovers may be satisfied due to added customization options including aluminum pedals, floor mats, instrument dials and leather or alcantara applications.

Spoon Sports to Improve Honda NSX Type-R for US Market

Featuring the Honda NSX – it is a sports car produced by the Japanese automaker Honda. “It is powered by rear mid-engine, an all-aluminum body and chassis, and a V6 gasoline engine featuring Honda’s VTEC system.” From the original NSX it has improved much and had been transformed to the name NSX-R. There are few changes to the car including the front air dam and the rear scoop that extends way beyond the roof. This first generation NSX-R started its production by August of 2005.

In its latest update, Honda decided to only offer one Type-R model in the U.S., namely the DC2 Integra. But according to the Hondaphiles and Honda enthusiasts, that move can be considered as a crime.

So by that time, Honda has thought of a way on how to launch more Type-R models in U.S and luckily Spoon Sports, a long-time motorsport partner with Honda helped on rectifying matters by converting left-hand-drive US-spec NSXs into NSX-Rs. The conversion consists of some modifications by Autopartswarehouse including the shocks, the anti-roll bars, wheels, brake rotors underbody trays and a rear diffuser. They also replaced the hood and other components with lightweight materials in order to get as close to the JDM version’s 2,800-pound curb weight.

Spoon Sports has not yet announced the details on how much the conversion will cost or when it will start taking orders, but if it Honda supports this project well, we can expect this new models out on the road just ahead of the new NSX’s launch in 2010.
